Dear Asia Mahjong School Overview

Hi, we are Dear Asia London—a team of ESEA (East and Southeast Asian) members dedicated to bridging the gap in language and cultural learning in the UK. Originally established as a language school, we have been teaching our students how to play Mahjong for many years and even host a regular Saturday Mahjong Club at our Aldgate Centre.

With Mahjong’s global popularity on the rise, we’ve taken things to the next level — launching a fully-fledged Mahjong School. We’re now expanding to teach all major styles of Mahjong and offering a range of Mahjong-related services to grow our community and share the joy of the game even further.

Event Details

How many people?

For private small groups, we follow a 1 instructor : 1 Mahjong set : 1 table of 4 -6 players format, ensuring personalized guidance. Our regular workshop is 2 hours, allowing beginners to learn and start playing confidently by the end. If needed, we can shorten it to 1.5 hours.

Our guarantee: No one gets left behind! Mahjong is a team effort, and everyone at the table will learn, play, and have fun together.

Venue Set up

Most companies can host the event in their canteen or café space. Any 4–6 person tables with chairs work perfectly for a Mahjong game. We don’t currently stock specialized Mahjong tables due to the cost of storage and transportation. But just like many Asians play at their dining or tea tables at home, we’ll bring Mahjong mats and Mahjong sets to set up each table, ensuring a smooth and authentic gameplay experience.
